Madhuri Dixit, Kamal Haasan pay tribute to Birju Maharaj 

Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit has paid tribute to Birju Maharaj. The Kathak yarn and choreographer handed away on Sunday in Delhi. He became once 83. 

Birju Maharaj had choreographed the tune, ‘Kaahe Chhed Mohe’, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas (2002). Picturised on Madhuri, it grew to develop correct into a standout sequence of the film.

Kamal Haasan, whose film Vishwaroopam had the tune Unnai Kaanadhu Naan choreographed by Birju Maharaj, also shared his condolences. The sequence obtained Maharaj the National Movie Award for choreography in 2012.

Writing in Tamil, Kamal shared, “The incomparable dance yarn Pandit Birju Maharaj has handed away. Savor an Ekalavya, I learnt a lot from him by watching him from a distance for a long time. I learnt a lot from finish quarters for Vishwaroopam.”

The actor concluded his tweet with the lines from Unnai Kaanadhu Naan, in conjunction with, “A yarn who dedicated his existence to music and dance, ‘I am now not myself currently because being unable to see you’.”

Others in conjunction with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Kangana Ranaut, Anushka Sharma, Anupam Kher and Hema Malini also paid tribute to Birju Maharaj.
